Halloween is absolutely my favorite holiday! So I'm putting everything I can think of in here: from movie and music recommendations to graphics and maybe later I'll do some decor and pumpkin carving ideas, and vintage Halloween things!
General Spooky Fun Halloween Playlist | Atmospheric Dark Halloween Playlist
I know horror movies in general are a good general pick for Halloween, but even among horror movies there are just some that are More Halloween-y! So I'm going to stick with what really gets me in the Halloween mood.
Trick R Treat (2007) Rated R- It's kind of the ultimate Halloween movie. It's set on Halloween but also every single frame of it just oozes Halloween. Sets, costumes, lighting, the whole mood of it. It's an anthology- there's four separate stories that all connect together in a really fun way, and each story stands on its own. And Sam, our avatar of Halloween, is both cute and terrifying. Ever since I first saw this I always have to leave one Jack o'Lantern on until after midnight, even if mine are just plug ins! Quick warning, though: if gore is hard for you, please check out some warnings online. It's not gory in a slasher way, more of a camp fire story way, if that makes sense.
House on Haunted Hill (1959) Not Rated= Oh this movie is a delight! I saw it as a child and I've loved it ever since. I think it still holds up really well- I never saw the plot twist coming! And there's one effect that I'm still trying to figure out how they did it. There is a lot of over the top Vintage Damsel Screaming, but the whole thing is just pure spooky fun!
